Why You Need It: Widely regarded as the best Chinese dictionary app. As soon as you touch any language learning school , any of your classmates will recommend you to download it, almost every foreigner has it as their primary Chinese translation app. It has been around since forever because when i came to Taiwan 7 years every foreigner would open this app when they want to look up words and still to this day they all have it on their phones. It goes far beyond simple word translation, providing stroke order, character decomposition like what each radical means and give many other characters that use the same radical , and multiple example sentences. If you are serious about studying Mandarin, this is mandatory. It allows for both input in English and Chinese plus it has both simplified and traditional characters , that's even before mentioning the add-ons. it has overlay to help you read articles and identify words, space repetition quizzes etc.
